A maritime hydrogen-powered VTOL drone: lots of innovation in one!
The Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands has developed a maritime VTOL drone using a combination of hydrogen and batteries for its propulsion. The project is led by the Micro Aerial Vehicle Lab (MAVLab) at TU Delft, in cooperation with the Dutch Navy and the Dutch coastguard. Back to the future with MARTY from Stanford!
For all future lovers, Back to the future is a cult movie. Stanford Ph.D. students have designed this electric self-driving DeLorean that is able to drift at high speed on a racecourse. A tribute to the DeLorean, Marty's car in the famous movie. Rallye drivers are seriously wondering in the video if their job is at risk! More seriously, the project is not just anecdotical. It might be very useful to improve the behavior of self-driving cars on icy or slippery roads. Have fun!
